I am desperately awaiting summer

Even though it is not my favourite season

Summer this year will be unlike any other

I can't put my finger on the reason

I am desperately awaiting the sun, the food

Being back home with my dogs

I simply know that everything will

Get me in the right mood

I am desperately awaiting summer

Anticipating the feeling of the sand on skin

Playing with my cousins in the water

Teaching my dogs how to swim

I am desperately awaiting home

Forgetting the heat and the weather

Missing my family and my comfort
